Alphabetilately at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum

On the evening of Thursday, September 24, Alphabetilately opened at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum in Washington, DC. The pictures below are from the party held there to kick off the exhibit.

In the center of the room are four cases containing supplementary material related to the history of the Alphabetilately project, which originated in 1997 as a slide show for the SF chapter of the AIGA (CLICK HERE for more.)

In the Post Office of the Museum, materials were available for attendees to create their own postal souvenirs of the occasion, with a special commemorative cancel created just for the opening.
